About Prof. Vishvakarma
Dr. Vishvakarma is a Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Center for Advanced Electronics (CAE), Indian Institute of Technology Indore, MP, India. He is engaged with teaching and research in the area of In-Memory Computing for AI Chips, AI Hardware Accelerators, Biomedical Circuits, Circuits and Systems Design for Electric Vehicle, Reliable and Secure Circuits, Silicon Photonics Circuits. Prof. Vishvakarma is a reviewer of various Journals like IEEE Transaction on Electron Devices, IEEE Transaction on Nanotechnology, IEEE Transaction on VLSI Integration System, Elsevier Microelectronics Journal, Elsevier Integration the VLSI Journal, IEEE Transaction on VLSI Integration System, Analog Integrated Circuits and Signal Processing Springer, Circuits, Systems & Signal Processing (CSSP), Solid State Electronics etc. He is a Member of IEEE, Professional Member of VLSI Society of India, Associate Member of Institute of Nanotechnology, Life member of Indian Microelectronics Society (IMS), India. He has authored/co-authored more than 190 research papers in peer-reviewed international journals and conferences. He has also granted 06 Indian patents from IIT Indore and has 16 sponsored research projects.
Prof. Vishvakarma did schooling from Gorakhpur itself and then Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Electronics, Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Electronics and Master of Technology (M.Tech.) in Microelectronics from University of Gorakhpur, Devi Ahilya Vishvidayalaya Indore and Panjab University Chandigarh in 1999, 2001 and 2003 respectively. Dr. Vishvakarma obtained Ph.D. degree on the topic "Analytical Modeling of Low Leakage MGDG MOSFET and its Application to SRAM" from Microelectronics and VLSI Group, Department of Electronics and Computer Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee (IITR) in 2010 and worked under the supervision of Prof. S. Dasgupta, & Prof. A. K. Saxena in the area of MOS device modeling and SRAM circuit design.
Dr. Vishvakarma is a Member of Academic Advisor Committee, Central Zone – SemiconIndia Future Design initiative by Govt. of India, Member of Task Force, Electronics and Semiconductor, Govt. of Madhya Pradesh, Chairman of VLSI Society of India, Madhya Pradesh Chapter, Chair of IEEE Circuit and System Society of MP Section. He is the Member of Research Park Committee, Rural Development and Technology Committee, Smart City Project at IIT Indore. He was the Dean, Student Affairs at IIT Indore, Founding Faculty In-charge, Industry Relations and Placement, Founding Head, Center of Futuristic Defense and Space Technology (CFDST). He was the General Chair of 23rd International Symposium on VLSI Design and Test (VDAT-2019) On July 4-6, 2019, IIT Indore, India.
Dr. Vishvakarma received DAAD Bilateral Exchange Fellowship in 2018 to visit Germany, and Marie-Curie Fellowship in 2009 to visit Norway.
Prof. Vishvakarma is from "Gorakhpur" a city in Uttar Pradesh, India. Gorakhpur takes its name and fame from renowned, ascetic 'Gorakshnath', who was an eminent profounder saint of 'Nath Sampradaya'. A famous shrine 'Gorakhnath' was built in his honor on the same spot where he practiced austerities. His father late. Sri Harilal Vishawkarma, a Spiritual thinker, and his mother late. Smt. Hanshmati Devi is a housewife and dedicated towards familial responsibilities. He married with Dr. Kanchanlata Vishwakarma, Plant Expert and Consultant who is very supportive and maintain the balance between her scientific career and personal life. He has 10 years old one daughter Ms. Harshita Vishwakarma.
Apart from scientific interest, Prof. Vishvakarma has a great interest to listen to music and to involve various social activities.
